Dave Woodhouse / Guitar
It all started many years ago with an eight string mandolin. The first band I joined was 3CHORD WONDERS, named by our school teacher. We didn't get very far. My early influences were Judas Priest, Saxon, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and Kiss. After leaving school I joined BLACK STALLION, a 4 piece rock band based in Tinsley Sheffield. Due to the lack of funds and equipment, the band never got out of the practice room. This experience had laid the basic foundations and steered me in the right direction. It taught me that it takes a lot of hard work, and if you are prepared to put the work in, you will get the rewards in the end. Many years later I bumped into the singer from Black Stallion. Steve was singing for a rock covers band called DRIVEN based in High Green Sheffield. He was on a quest looking for a guitarist. You guessed it, I jumped at the chance to play again. Many months of practicing, and a few band member changes eventually paid off. Many thanks to Phil and the guy's from (GYPSY), who helped us get our feet on the gigging ladder. Playing live has gotta be the best feeling ever. After leaving DRIVEN, I formed a rock band called G-FORCE. Forming a band was alot harder than it sounds. No PA System, Lights, Practice room, I never thought it was going to take off. But after a depleated bank balance, it started to come together. But it fell to pieces just as fast as it started. A little while later, I was helping out taking photo's and shooting video's for my mate's band (SNEAKY FEELIN). When one of the guitarists decided he was leaving, My mate Mark asked me if I would like to join. YEAH i jumped straight in. This was it, loadz of hours rehearsing for the onslaught of gigs. Mainly playin pubz, and the odd (no jokin) club.
My Gear Consists of :
ENGL 100w POWERBALL Head.
ENGL 4 x 12 Angle Cab.
MESA BOOGIE Rect-O-Verb II 50 watt Combo.
CRATE Powerblock (Back-Up Amp).
I chose the ENGL POWERBALL for it's Brutal tone and it's Menacing looks. This amp really kicks ass, with outstanding reliability.
I use the MESA for smaller gigs, this amp has so much attitude, it registers 9 on the richter scale.
The BRUTE'S are tamed by using the following guitars:
PRS Custom CE22 20th Anniversary (Whale Blue).
GIBSON Les Paul Standard (Cherry Sunburst).
GIBSON Les Paul 1960 Classic (Honey Burst).
FENDER Stratocaster Custom Shop (Gold) M. Devoto Relic.
EPIPHONE Zakk Wylde Signature Les Paul Custom (Bullseye).
FENDER Electro-Acoustic (Black).
D'Addario Strings.
AUDIO TECHNICA Wireless Guitar System - is used to enable interaction with the other band members, and often see's me disappearing into the crowd. (There's nothing worse than tripping over your cables, or strangling the audience).
BOSS GT10 - Floor Pedal - Provides a vast array of effects on stage.
SHURE SM58 - Wireless Vocal Mic's.
SHURE SM57 - Guitar Mic's for optimum sound reproduction.
ICOLOR 4 - Lighting Rig.
