Ian started playing drums at about 9 years old after hearing the very drum driven music of Adam and the Ants, also the visual of 2 drummers on stage made me  pay attention .He Got his first kit for Christmas in 1980 which used to belong to his Granddad which had been sat in a cupboard at his house for about 30 years, it was a relic, but to Ian it was amazing!

Ian is totally self taught and learned just by listening to records and playing along.

He Joined numerous bands all through his years at comprehensive school and had a particular passion for Heavy Metal. 

After honing his double Bass drum and speed skills Ian joined a Thrash Metal band called Deviance and gigged locally for about two years.

In 1993 some longstanding friends and old band mates formed a Death Metal outfit called Evoke. They released a demo (I am my own God) in 1994 and that sold over 1000 copies world wide, which isn't bad for an unknown band in the days before the internet. The band  also did three 7'' singles, two compilation albums, two 12'' mini albums and two full length CD albums, through German record label Impact Records, the second album (The fury written) received 4/5 in Kerrang and was quoted as being one of the best UK Death Metal albums of the 90's. They did a small Uk tour with Malevolent Creation (Florida), Master (Chicago) and Krabathor (Czech Republic). They have gigged the length and breadth of the UK with other bands like Napalm Death (UK) Krisiun (Brazil), Deranged (Sweden) to name but a few. The were also asked to play the first ever Bloodstock Festival.

The Band is in a state of long term Hibernation, but may get back in the saddle for the odd festival or recording, never say never!.

Ian came for an audition for Sneaky at the end of July 2010 and played his first gig at Short ferry in Lincoln a couple of weeks later. Hope Ian will be with the band for along time.
